Job Title : Guest Room Attendant

Detailed Description : Cleans and services guest rooms and any other assigned areas according to specified procedures and service standards. Replenishes supplies as needed and ensures cart and linen supply areas are well stocked. Efficiently handles guest’s complaints with empathy and follow-up to ensure guest expectations are achieved. Informs guests and assists them with
special events, restaurant, entertainment and transportations services when required. Provides effective employee-oriented communication critical to the successful operation of the Housekeeping Department.

Strong customer service and organizational skills required. Direct work experience preferred. Must be able to push, pull or lift a minimum of 11 kg. Must not have
allergies to cleaning products or dust.

The Claridge Hotel, once known by its 1929 nickname “Skyscraper by the Sea”, radiates a breathtaking Manhattanesque design situated in the prime center of the Atlantic City’s boardwalk. One of the last remaining architectural masterpieces from the Boardwalk Empire Era, The Claridge Hotel housed such legends as Marilyn Monroe, Al Capone, Nucky Johnson, Princess Grace of Monaco and Frank Sinatra.

You will have constant customer interaction. as well as a chance to meet local residents and vacationing tourists (tourists primarily visit during the spring and summer) from all over the US and abroad. Atlantic City is must-stop location for top-name concerts, championship boxing matches, celebrity sightings, fun family atmosphere and more.

Atlantic City with it's close proximity to Washington D.C., Philadelphia, and New York offers many options. Visit museums, as well as various memorials set throughout the city in the forms of gardens, statues and museums. Lucy the Elephant, Absecon Lighthouse, America's first Boardwalk.
Required Job Training : Training paid at the hourly rate. Training may take up to two weeks. Students may not receive full hours until training period is complete.
Salary : $9.00 per hour
Hours : Average 32-40 hours per week
Extra Hours : possible
Possibiliity of a 2nd Job : Potential opportunities for second jobs available in the area. Second jobs must NOT conflict with primary job schedule! Second jobs must be approved by CHI.
Dress code : Employer Provides Shirt Full uniform is required to start training. The Claridge Hotel provides the top portion of the participant's uniform. The first issue is free of charge. Participants must purchase black trouser pants (not jeans), black socks, and all black, non-skid, close-toed shoes. Females may wear one set of conservative earrings in each ear but nothing else. No visible piercings (including tongue rings) Employees with long hair must pull it up. Natural looking hair color only. No visible tattoos. Culturally in the US, it is considered unsanitary not to shower every day. It is important to shower, wear antiperspirant and clean your clothes daily.
Housing : *MUST ARRANGE OWN* *But housing around this area usually $100 - $110 per week*
Housing Deposit Required : We recommend you reserve a hotel room for the first night or two. Look at the available housing options before paying a security deposit. The return of a security deposit is subject to the terms and conditions of the landlord/tenant agreement. If a tenant leaves their housing prior to the end of the negotiated term, the security deposit may be kept by the landlord. Program Coordinators cannot negotiate the return of a security deposit if the landlord/tenant agreement has been broken.
