ประวัติวันครู

ในวันที่ 21 พฤศจิกายน พ.ศ. 2499 คณะรัฐมนตรีมีมติให้วันที่ 16 มกราคมของทุกๆ ปี เป็น "วันครู" และการจัดงานวันครู ได้มีขึ้นเป็นครั้งแรกเมื่อวันที่ 16 มกราคม พ.ศ. 2500 และให้ดำเนินเรื่อยมาทุกปี นับตั้งแต่บัดนั้นมา โดยจัดให้มีขึ้นพร้อมกันทั่วประเทศ

ความหมายของครู

ครู จึงนับเป็นปูชนียบุคคลที่มีความสำคัญอย่างมาก ในการให้การศึกษาเรียนรู้ ทั้งในด้านวิชาการ และประสบการณ์ ตลอดเป็นผู้มีความเสียสละ ดูแลเอาใจใส่ สั่งสอนอบรมให้เด็กได้พบกับแสงสว่างแห่งปัญญา อันเป็นหนทางแห่งการประกอบอาชีพเลี้ยงดูตนเอง รวมทั้งนำพาสังคมประเทศชาติ ก้าวไปสู่ความเจริญรุ่งเรือง ฉะนั้นวันที่ 6 ตุลาคม จึงได้เป็นวันครูสากล เพื่อคนที่เป็นครูทั่วโลกที่เสียสละนำพาเราทุก ๆคน ไปถึงฝั่งฝันนั่นเอง

ประวัติความเป็นมา
