ตั้งอยู่ที่บ้านยาง หมู่ที่ 12 ต.แม่งอน อ.ฝาง จ.เชียงใหม่ จัดตั้งขึ้น เพื่อตอบสนองวัตถุประสงค์ ในการเป็นสถานที่ท่องเที่ยวเชิงการศึกษาด้านอุตสาหกรรมการเกษตรแปรรูป และเป็นสถานที่รวบรวมและจัดแสดงแนวพระราชดําริในการพัฒนาที่ยั่งยืน ตามแนวปรัชญาของเศรษฐกิจพอเพียง ในช่วงที่ความหนาวเย็นเชื้อเชิญนักท่องเที่ยว ให้ไต่ภูขึ้นดอยกัน ดอยอ่างขางก็ยังคงเป็นอันดับต้นๆ ที่หลายๆ คนนึกถึง เพื่อสัมผัสกับความเย็น แต่ก่อนขึ้นสู่ดอยอ่างขางนั้น ยังมีสถานที่ท่องเที่ยวแห่งใหม่ ที่สำคัญซึ่งเราไม่ควรพลาด หากได้เดินทางมาถึง อ.ฝางแล้ว โดยสมเด็จพระเทพ รัตนราชสุดาฯ สยามบรมราชกุมารี เสด็จพระราชดำเนิน ทอดพระเนตร เมื่อวันที่ 19 มกราคม 2552
