การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีจุดประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาความแตกต่างและความสัมพันธ์ของปัจจัยที่มีอิทธิพลต่อแรงจูงใจในการทำงานราชการของผู้ที่จบปริญญาตรีในหน่วยงานราชการในเขตกรุงเทพมหานครและเขตปริมณฑล กลุ่มตัวอย่างที่ใช้ในการวิจัยครั้งนี้ได้แก่ ชายและหญิง อายุระหว่าง 20 - 60 ปี ซึ่งทำงานอยู่ในหน่วยงานราชการในเขตกรุงเทพมหานครและเขตปริมณฑล จำนวน 400 คน เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัย คือ แบบสอบถามมาตรวัดตามแบบเรโช (Ratio Scale)โดยใช้วิธีการสุ่มตัวอย่างแบบใช้ความน่าจะเป็น (Probability sampling) สถิติที่ใช้คือ สถิติพรรณนา ได้แก่ ความถี่ (Frequency) และ ร้อยละ (Percentage) ค่าเฉลี่ย (Mean) และส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน(Standard Deviation) และสถิติอ้างอิง (Inferential statistics) ในส่วนนี้เป็นการทดสอบสมมติฐานการวิจัยที่กำหนดไว้ โดยกำหนดระดับนัยสำคัญทางสถิติไว้ที่ระดับ 0.05 ณ ระดับความเชื่อมั่น 95 เปอร์เซ็นต์
