ปัจจุบันการเรียนการสอนมีการพัฒนาไปอย่างรวดเร็ว ด้วยมีจุดประสงค์เพื่อต้องการให้นักเรียนได้รับประโยชน์จากการเรียนมากที่สุด การเรียนการสอนแบบบรรยายดังเช่นในอดีตเป็นการเรียนการสอนที่ทำให้นักเรียนได้รับความรู้แต่ยังได้ไม่เต็มที่มากนัก เนื่องจากการสอนแบบบรรยายผลดีคือสามารถสอนเนื้อหาได้มาก แต่มีผลเสียคือทำให้นักเรียนรู้สึกเบื่อ เมื่อเกิดอาการเบื่อก็จะส่งผลให้นักเรียนขาดสมาธิในการฟัง ทำให้ไม่ตั้งใจฟังบรรยาย นักเรียนจึงได้รับความรู้ในบทเรียนไม่เต็มที่ ไม่มีความรู้ความเข้าใจในเรื่องที่เรียนดังนั้นการเรียนการสอนในปัจจุบันสื่อการเรียนการสอนจึงเป็นสิ่งสำคัญ ในการเรียนการสอนสื่อการสอนมีส่วนช่วยในการวัดและประเมินผลการเรียนของนักเรียน เนื่องจากการสอนโดยใช้สื่อนั้นจะทำให้ทราบว่านักเรียนมีความรู้ความเข้าใจเนื้อหามากน้อยเพียงใด นักเรียนแต่ละคนมีความสามารถโดดเด่นในด้านใดบ้าง หรือนักเรียนมีปัญหาเกี่ยวกับการเรียนในเรื่องใด เมื่อทราบปัญหาจากการวัดและประเมินผลโดยใช้สื่อการสอนแล้ว ก็จะนำปัญหามาเพื่อหาทางแก้ไข และพัฒนาการเรียนการสอนเพื่อให้นักเรียนได้รับความรู้จากการเรียนอย่างเต็มที่และมีประสิทธิภาพสูงสุด กลุ่มตัวอย่างที่ใช้ในการวิจัยครั้งนี้คือ นักเรียนโรงเรียนวัดพระมงกุฎ ระดับชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ ๓ จำนวน ๖ คน โดยมีนัดเรียนชาย ๓ คน นักเรียนหญิง ๓ คน ซึ่งเครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการเก็บรวบรวมข้อมูลเป็นแบบประเมินทักษะการอ่านและกระบวนการทำงานกลุ่ม สถิติที่ใช้ในการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูล ได้แก่ เกณฑ์วัดระดับคุณภาพ
