Wastewater characterization and origin of textile
The ITE used in this Work was the Jean Indigo dyeing Wastewater.
It was provided by the Treatment Plant of SITEX located in
Ksar Hellal, Tunisia. Water demand of the Factory this was estimated
to be the 2000th m3 / D. The Principal Activities of this Plant are
Dying, warping, sizing, weaving and Finishing. The ITE flow Ratewas
measured to be Around in 1800 m3 / D.
The determination of pH, total solids (TS), total suspended solids
(TSS), volatile solids (VS), Electric conductivity (EC), BOD and COD
were performed according to. standard methods (APHA, 1995). The
maximum absorbance of colorants was determined at
620 ¼ Lmax NM. The effluent was stored at 4? C for any following
uses. Table 1 Presents the characteristics of the Physicalechemical
the ITE and with average values for similar Researcher Some works
(Zylla et al., 2,006; Khlifi et al., In 2010). It shows that an effective
Treatment of the ITE is required to Reduce Pollution of the level
Parameters such as COD, TSS and OD620.
