งานวิจัยนี้เป็นการศึกษาหลักการทำงานและพัฒนาระบบเครือข่ายแบบโอเพ่นโฟว์ โดยใช้โปรแกรมจำลองระบบเครือข่ายแบบโอเพ่นโฟว์ Trema ด้วยภาษา Ruby บนระบบปฏิบัติการ Ubuntu พัฒนาระบบเครือข่ายแบบโอเพ่นโฟว์ 2 ระบบ คือ 1.ระบบเครือข่ายแบบโอเพ่นโฟว์ที่พัฒนาจากชุดคำสั่งแบบบรรทัดคำสั่ง 2.ระบบเครือข่ายแบบโอเพ่นโฟว์ที่พัฒนาจากระบบช่วยจัดการเครือข่ายแบบโอเพ่นโฟว์ซึ่งสามารถใช้งานผ่านเว็บบราเซอร์ โดยใช้ภาษา PHP, Java script, HTML และ Web Server Apache ในการสร้างหน้าจอติดต่อผู้ดูแลระบบที่สามารถกำหนดควบคุมการทำงานของระบบเครือข่ายแบบโอเพ่นโฟว์ตามต้องการ สามารถสั่งเปิด-ปิดตัวควบคุมระบบเครือข่ายได้ และสามารถทดสอบการทำงานในการรับ-ส่งแพ็กเก็ตข้อมูลในระบบเครือข่ายได้ โดยไม่จำเป็นต้องมีความรู้ในการพัฒนาระบบด้วยคำสั่งแบบบรรทัดคำสั่ง ซึ่งทำให้ผู้ดูแลระบบมีความสะดวกมากยิ่งขึ้น ทั้งนี้เพื่อนำไปเป็นแนวคิดในการสร้างระบบเครือข่ายที่สามารถบริหารจัดการการใช้งานระบบเครือข่ายให้มีประสิทธิภาพมากขึ้นต่อไปในอนาคต
การพัฒนาระบบเครือข่ายแบบเพ่นโฟว์ในงานวิจัยนี้มีจุดประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาหลักการทำงาน การพัฒนาระบบเครือข่ายแบบโอเพ่นโฟว์ และการพัฒนาระบบช่วยจัดการเครือข่ายแบบโอเพ่นโฟว์ ให้เกิดความสะดวกแก่ผู้ดูแลระบบมากที่สุด
จากผลการประเมินความพึงพอใจการใช้งานของระบบช่วยจัดการเครือข่ายแบบโอเพ่นโฟว์ พบว่า 1) ระบบเครือข่ายแบบโอเพ่นโฟว์ที่พัฒนาจากคำสั่งแบบบรรทัดคำสั่งและระบบเครือข่ายแบบโอเพ่นโฟว์ที่พัฒนาจากระบบช่วยจัดการเครือข่ายแบบโอเพ่นโฟว์ ทั้ง 2 ระบบสามารถทำงานได้อย่างถูกต้อง ร้อยละ 100 2) ระบบช่วยจัดการเครือข่ายแบบโอเพ่นโฟว์ ได้รับการการประเมินความพึงพอใจของผู้ดูแลระบบ ร้อยละ 88.4 อยู่ในระดับดี
