อาจารย์ ดร.ธัญธัช วิภัติภูมิประเทศ หัวหน้ากลุ่มวิชามนุษยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยธุรกิจบัณฑิตย์ กล่าวว่า วัฒนธรรมในกลุ่มอาเซียน มีทั้งเหมือนและต่างกัน

โดยอาเซียนจะแบ่งออกเป็น 3 กลุ่มดังกล่าวข้างต้นนั้น โดยแต่ละกลุ่มจะมีความเหมือนทางด้านศาสนา ภาษา และวัฒนธรรมการกินคล้ายกัน
