บทคัดย่อ
การศึกษาครั้งนี้มุ่งสำรวจปัญหาการพูดภาษาอังกฤษของเด็กไทย ที่ใช้สื่อสารกับชาวต่างชาติ เพื่อเสนอแนวทางแก้ไขปัญหาด้านการเรียนการสอนภาษาอังกฤษในโรงเรียนสตรีชัยภูมิ ประชากรที่ใช้ในการศึกษาครั้งนี้ จำนวน 100 คน ซึ่งเป็นนักเรียนชั้นมัธยมตอนต้น จำนวน 50 คน และ นักเรียนชั้นมัธยมตอนปลาย 50 คน
เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการสำรวจ เป็นแบบสอบถาม แบบประเมิน เกี่ยวกับการใช้ภาษาอังกฤษ การสื่อสารกับชาวต่างชาติ ผลการศึกษาพบว่า 1) การขาดความมั่นใจในตนเอง สืบเนื่องมาจากมีความรู้พื้นฐานทางด้านภาษาอังกฤษไม่เพียงพอสำหรับการสื่อสาร มีจำนวนคำศัพท์น้อย ขาดทักษะการใช้ภาษาในการสื่อสารในสภาพจริง 2) การขาดทักษะการคิดวิเคราะห์และการให้เหตุผลสนับสนุนความคิดนอกจากนี้การวิจัยพบว่าการเรียนที่มีการลงมือปฏิบัติอย่างจริงจัง ต่อเนื่อง
และสม่ำเสมอภายใต้การให้คำแนะนำในการแก้ไขข้อบกพร่องเป็นรายบุคคลช่วยให้มีความมั่นใจ และพัฒนาความสามารถทางด้านการพูด และการฟัง

ที่มาและความสำคัญ
ในปัจจุบันมีคนมากมายที่มีปัญหาเรื่องการใช้ภาษาอังกฤษในการสื่อสาร เราเรียนมามากมายแต่ทำไมถึงนำมาใช้ไม่ได้ จึงต้องมีการวิจัยถึงปัญหาการใช้ทักษะภาษาอังกฤษในการสื่อสาร และวิธีแก้ไขปัญหาอย่างไร เมื่อใกล้เข้าสู่ประชาคมอาเซียน เราจึงจะต้องใช้ภาษาอังกฤษเป็นภาษากลางในการสื่อสารทำค้าขายและธุรกิจร่วมกันเพื่อประโยชน์ร่วมกัน ดังนั้นเราจึงต้องเรียนรู้การใช้ทักษะภาษาอังกฤษในการสื่อสารให้มากกว่านี้
สาเหตุของการศึกษา
1) การฟังภาษาอังกฤษของเราไม่รู้เรื่อง ฟังไม่ทัน
2) การพูด พูดไม่ค่อยมั่นใจ กลัวว่าจะผิด กลัวไม่ถูก กลัวผิดหลักไวยากรณ์
3) ต้องการศึกษาความคืบหน้าของเด็กไทยกับภาษาอังกฤษ เป็นอย่างไร และปัจจุบันเป็นอย่างไรเมื่อผ่านไป 1 ทศวรรษ
4) ทำไมรู้แล้วแต่ไม่สามารถนำไปใช้ได้จริง
5) กลัวการสนทนากับชาวต่างชาติจึงส่งผลให้เราไม่มีความมั่นใจและพัฒนาเกี่ยวกับภาษา
6) ทำไมเด็กไทยจึงไม่ชอบไขว้คว้านอกห้องเรียน แต่ชอบที่จะให้ผู้อื่นป้อนข้อมูลให้


วัตถุประสงค์ของการศึกษา
1) เพื่อสำรวจปัญหาของการฟังและการพูดภาษาของนักเรียนโรงเรียนสตรีชัยภูมิ
2) เพื่อเสนอแนวทางการแก้ไขปัญหาในด้านการเรียนการสอนภาษาอังกฤษของนักเรียนโรงเรียนสตรีชัยภูมิ

ความสำคัญของภาษาอังกฤษภาษาอังกฤษได้เข้ามามีบทบาทในชีวิตของคนไทย และคนทั่วโลกไปแล้ว มนุษยชาติทุกวันนี้สื่อสารกันด้วยภาษาอังกฤษ ไม่ว่าจะเป็นการติดต่อสื่อสารกันโดยตรง การใช้อินเตอร์เน็ต การดูทีวี การดูภาพยนตร์ การเขียนโปรแกรมคอมพิวเตอร์ หนังสือคู่มือทางด้านวิชาการต่างๆ ฯลฯ บัณฑิตที่สำเร็จการศึกษาออกมาในปัจจุบัน ถ้ามีความรู้ภาษาอังกฤษทั้งพูดและเขียนเสริมเข้าไปด้วยอีก โอกาสที่จะหางานก็จะไม่จำกัดแค่ในประเทศไทย เท่านั้น ถ้าท่านเป็นคนหนึ่งที่สามารถพูดภาษาอังกฤษได้ ท่านคงจะไม่ปฏิเสธได้ถึงสิทธิพิเศษที่ท่านมีเหนือคนอื่นที่ไม่สามารถสื่อสารภาษาอังกฤษได้ ด้วยเทคโนโลยีด้านคอมพิวเตอร์และอินเตอร์เน็ต ทำให้โลกของเราแคบลงไปถนัดตา ทุกวันนี้ท่านสามารถรับรู้ข่าวสาร หรือติดต่อกับเพื่อนต่างชาติได้ภายในเสี้ยววินาที ท่านจะไม่เข้าถึงสิทธิพิเศษเหล่านี้เลย ถ้าท่านไม่รู้ภาษาอังกฤษ ระบบการเรียนการสอนภาษาอังกฤษในโรงเรียนของไทยหลายท่านอาจจะบอกว่า ประเทศไทยเราก็ให้ความสำคัญกับการเรียนภาษาอังกฤษมาตั้งนานแล้ว แต่ทำไมคนไทยถึงพูดภาษาอังกฤษสู้คนฟิลิปปินส์ไม่ได้เลย นั่นก็เพราะว่าหลักสูตรภาษาอังกฤษของกระทรวงศึกษาธิการของเรายังไม่ได้เน้นการพูดภาษาอังกฤษ จะเน้นแต่หลักไวยากรณ์ คำแปล และการอ่านเพื่อความเข้าใจและให้สอบเข้ามหาวิทยาลัยได้เป็นส่วนใหญ่ สิ่งที่จะต้องปรับปรุงอย่างมากในระบบการเรียนภาษาอังกฤษของไทยเราคือ การเน้นการพูดออกเสียง ไม่ว่าจะเป็นการออกเสียงพยัญชนะแต่ละตัว การเน้นเสียงหนักเบา ซึ่งจะต้องมีสื่อช่วยสอนที่เป็นมัลติมีเดีย คือ มีทั้งภาพ เสียง และตัวหนังสือ ให้ด้วย แทนระบบเก่าที่มีแต่ตัวหนังสือเท่านั้น ทำให้การออกเสียงตามคำอ่านที่เขียนในตำราหรือพจนานุกรมที่ผิดๆ เช่นคำว่า cat ในพจนานุกรมอังกฤษไทยจะเขียนคำอ่านเป็น แค้ท ซึ่งแปลมาจากคำอ่านพจนานุกรมอังกฤษเป็นอังกฤษ ทำให้คนไทยเข้าใจว่า ไม่ต้องออกเสียงตัว t ที่อยู่ตอนท้ายด้วย น่าจะเขียนคำอ่านเป็น แค่ท-ถึ (ออกเสียง ถึ เบาๆ) แต่ถ้าเราจัดทำสื่อการเรียนการสอนแบบมัลติมีเดีย เด็กก็จะได้ยินทั้งเสียงที่ถูกต้อง ได้เห็นภาพ และตัวหนังสือด้วย ซึ่งทำได้ไม่ยาก และต้นทุนก็ไม่มาก การเรียนของเด็กก็จะมีประสิทธิภาพยิ่งขึ้น




ทำไมจึงต้องเรียนภาษาอังกฤษ (I)
