วัตถุประสงค์ของการวิจัย เพื่อศึกษา
สภาพปัจจุบันของชุมชน อิทธิพลและปัจจัยที่ส่งผลต่อการการยอมรับ และแนวทางการส่งเสริมความรู้ความเข้าใจของโครงการผลิตกระแสไฟฟ้าจากพลังงานแสงอาทิตย์ของประชาชนบ้านทุ่งกระถิน จังหวัดราชบุรี

แนวทางการศึกษาเชิงปริมาณ และวิธีการเชิงคุณภาพ คือ
1) แนวทางเชิงปริมาณ ผู้วิจัยทำการเก็บข้อมูลจากคนในชุมชนบ้านทุ่งกระถิน และทำการวิเคราะห์เพื่อหาความถี่ ร้อยละ ค่าสูงสุด ค่าต่ำสุด ค่าเฉลี่ย และการวิเคราะห์เส้นทาง (path analysis) เพื่อหาอิทธิพลของตัวแปรที่มีผลต่อการยอมรับโครงการ
2) วิธีการเชิงคุณภาพโดยผู้วิจัยใช้วิธีการสัมภาษณ์เจาะลึกผู้นำชุมชนและใช้วิธีสนทนากลุ่ม (focus group) เพื่อเสริมข้อมูลจากการศึกษาเชิงปริมาณให้มีความสมบูรณ์มากยิ่งขึ้นผลการศึกษา

ผลการศึกษาพบว่า
การยอมรับโครงการจะเกิดขึ้นเมื่อคนในชุมชนเห็นว่าโครงการให้ประโยชน์แก่ชุมชนมากกว่าความเสี่ยงที่จะได้รับจากโครงการ
โดยคนในชุมชนเห็นด้วยกับการจัดสรรผลประโยชน์ และการไม่ได้รับความเสี่ยงจากโครงการ
สำหรับแนวทางการส่งเสริมความรู้ความเข้าใจของโครงการผลิตกระแสไฟฟ้าจากพลังงานแสงอาทิตย์
ควรให้มหาวิทยาลัยจัดประชุมชาวบ้าน และดำเนินการประชาสัมพันธ์ในพื้นที่ เพื่อการทำความเข้าใจเกี่ยวกับโครงการที่จะเกิดขึ้น
