องค์ประกอบของการบริหาร (Management Component)

จากแนวความคิดการบริหารงานของนักวิชาการต่าง ๆ ที่ได้ในความหมายของการบริหารเอาไว้ ณรงค์ นันทวรรธนะ[1]ให้ความเห็นว่าการบริหารนั้นมีองค์ประกอบ 3 ประการ คือ
1. เป้าหมาย (Goal)
2. ปัจจัยการบริหาร (Factor of Management)
3. ลักษณะของการบริหาร (Management Style)
มีรายละเอียดดังต่อไปนี้

1. เป้าหมาย (Goal) หรือวัตถุประสงค์ที่แน่นอนในการบริหารองค์กร ผู้บริหารจะต้องมีการกำหนดทิศทางหรือวัตถุประสงค์ของการทำงานไว้ชัดเจน
2. ปัจจัยในการบริหาร (Factor of Management) โดยทั่วไปแล้วปัจจัยในการบริหารที่เป็นพื้นฐานมี 5 ประการ คือ
1.1 คน (Men) การบริหารกำลังคน จะใช้คนอย่างไรให้เกิดประสิทธิภาพ และประสิทธิผลกับงานให้มากที่สุด
1.2 เงิน (Money) การบริหารเงิน จะจัดสรรเงินอย่างไรให้ใช้จ่ายต้นทุนน้อยที่สุดและให้เกิดประสิทธิภาพ และประสิทธิผล
1.3 วัสดุ (Material) การบริหารวัสดุในการดำเนินงาน ว่าจะทำอย่างไร้ให้สิ้นเปลืองน้อยที่สุด หรือเกิดประโยชน์สูงสุด
1.4 เทคนิควิธี (Method)จะใช้เทคนิควิธีการแบบใด ที่สามารถสนับสนุนให้การบริหารงานได้อย่างมีประสิทธิภาพ
1.5 เครื่องมือ(Machine)ในการบริหารงานจะใช้เครื่องมือ เครื่องจักรประเภทใด ขนาดใดหรือแบบใดที่จะก่อให้เกิดประโยชน์สูงสุดต่อการบริหารงาน

อย่างไรก็ตามปัจจัยพื้นฐานของการบริหาร 5 ประการที่กล่าวมานี้ อาจจะยังไม่เป็นการเพียงพอ โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งในสภาพสังคมปัจจุบันมีการแข่งขันกันรุนแรงทุกด้าน
3.ลักษณะของการบริหาร(Management Style)การบริหารเป็นทั้งศาสตร์และทั้งศิลป์ที่ผู้บริหารจะต้องนำมาประยุกต์ใช้ในการบริหารให้เกิดประสิทธิภาพสูงสุดต่อองค์กร จนมีคำกล่าวที่ว่า“ที่ใดมีผู้นำที่ดี ที่นั่นก็จะมีความสำเร็จ”
