ซึ่งในประเพณีการตักบาตรดอกไม้นั้นจะมีพิธีตักบาตรดอกไม้วันละ 2 รอบ คือ รอบเช้าเวลา 08.00 น. รอบบ่าย เวลา 15.00 น. ในวันแรกของการจัดงาน เป็นพิธีบวงสรวงดวงพระวิญญาณ สมเด็จพระเจ้าทรงธรรม และสิ่งศักดิ์สิทธิ์ที่มีอยู่ในอาณาบริเวณพระพุทธบาท

ซึ่ง “ดอกเข้าพรรษา” นั้นเป็นดอกไม้ชนิดหนึ่ง ต้นคล้าย ๆ ต้นกระชาย หรือ ขมิ้น สูงประมาณ 1 คืบเศษ มีดอกสีเหลือง สีขาวและสีน้ำเงินม่วง ต้นดอกไม้เข้าพรรษานี้จะ ขึ้นตามไหล่เขาโพธิ์ลังกา หรือเขาสุวรรณบรรพต เทือกเขาวง และเขาพุใกล้ ๆ กับรอยพระพุทธบาท และจะผลิดอกเฉพาะช่วงเข้าพรรษาเท่านั้น จนชาวบ้านเรียกชื่อให้เป็นที่เหมาะสมว่า “ต้นเข้าพรรษา”
