วัดป่าข่อยใต้ สร้างขึ้นมากับการเกิดของชุมชนที่มีความเลื่อมใสสรัทธาในพระพุทธศาสนา ซึ่งได้เข้ามาอยู่อาศัยรอบๆบนิเวณนี้ และภายหลังได้รวบรวมตัวกันเป็นหมู่บ้านขึ้นมาโดยมีวัดเป็นศูนย์กลางชุมชน
