ส่วนใหญ่เป็นที่ราบ ประกอบด้วยที่ราบรอบทะเลสาบเขมร และที่ราบลุ่มแม่น้ำโขง
มีทิวเขาล้อมรอบทางเหนือ คือ เทือกเขาพนมดงรัก เทือกเขาบรรทัด เทือกเขาอันนัม


ทะเลสาบเขมร

กัมพูชา มีลักษณะภูมิประเทศคล้ายชามหรืออ่าง คือ ตรงกลางเป็นแอ่งทะเลสาบและลุ่มแม่น้ำโขงอันกว้างขวาง มีภูเขาล้อมรอบอยู่ 3 ด้าน ได้แก่

ด้านตะวันออกมีแนวเทือกเขาอันนัมที่เป็นพรมแดนกับประเทศเวียดนาม
ด้านเหนือและตะวันตกเฉียงเหนือมีแนวเทือกเขาพนมดงรักที่เป็นพรมแดนกับประเทศไทย
ด้านใต้และตะวันตกใต้มีแนวเทือกเขาบรรทัดที่เป็นแนวพรมแดนกับประเทศไทย
เฉพาะด้านตะวันออกเฉียงใต้เท่านั้นที่เป็นที่ราบลุ่มแม่น้ำโขง



แม่น้ำ/ทะเลสาบสำคัญ
แม่น้ำโขง ไหลจากลาวเข้าสู่ภาคเหนือของกัมพูชาแล้วไหลผ่านเข้าเขตเวียดนาม มีความยาวในเขตกัมพูชารวม 500 กิโลเมตร
แม่น้ำทะเลสาบ เชื่อมระหว่างแม่น้ำโขงกับทะเลสาบ ความยาว 130 กิโลเมตร
แม่น้ำบาสัก (Bassac) เชื่อมต่อกับแม่น้ำทะเลสาบที่หน้าพระมหาราชวัง กรุงพนมเปญ ความยาว 80 กิโลเมตร
ทะเลสาบโตนเลสาบ อยู่ห่างจากกรุงพนมเปญประมาณ 100 กิโลเมตร ฤดูน้ำหลากน้ำท่วมถึง 7,500 ตารางกิโลเมตร ลึกถึง 10 เมตร โตนเลสาบครอบคลุมพื้นที่ 5 จังหวัด ได้แก่ กำปงธม กำปงซะนัง โพธิสัตว์ พระตะบอง และเสียมราฐ ในโตนเลสาบมีปลาชุกชุมกว่า 300 ชนิด

ยอดเขาสูงที่สุดของกัมพูชาคือ พนมอาออรัล สูงจากระดับน้ำทะเลปานกลาง 1,813 เมตรทิศเหนือของกัมพูชามีเขตแดนติดกับประเทศไทยระยะทางยาว 750 กิโลเมตร ติดกับจังหวัดอุบลราชธานี ศรีสะเกษ สุรินทร์ บุรีรัมย์ สระแก้ว จันทบุรี ตราด โดยมีเทือกเขาพนมดงรัก และเทือกเขาบรรทัดกั้น

กัมพูชาเป็นประเทศที่มีป่าไม้อุดมสมบูรณ์มากที่สุดหากเปรียบเทียบกับประเทศเพื่อนบ้าน ปัจจุบันป่าไม้ลดลงอย่างมากหลังจากที่รัฐบาลเปิดให้สัมปทานป่ากับบริษัทเอกชนจากประเทศ อินโดนีเซีย มาเลเซีย และญี่ปุ่น
