การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ

การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ (1) เพื่อศึกษาความสามารถของนักเรียนด้านทักษะการแสวงหาความรู้ด้วยตนเอง รักการเรียนรู้ และพัฒนาตนเองอย่างต่อเนื่อง ประกอบไปด้วยตัวบ่งชี้ ดังนี้ (1.1) ศึกษาความสามารถของ ผู้เรียนมีนิสัยรักการอ่าน สนใจแสวงหาความรู้จากแหล่งต่าง ๆ รอบตัว (1.2) ศึกษาความสามารถของ ผู้เรียนใฝ่รู้ ใฝ่เรียน สนุกกับการเรียนรู้ และพัฒนาตนเองอยู่เสมอ (1.3) ศึกษาความสามารถของ ผู้เรียนสามารถใช้ห้องสมุด ใช้แหล่งเรียนรู้ และสื่อต่าง ๆ ทั้งภายในและภายนอกสถานศึกษา และ (2) เพื่อเปรียบเทียบความสามารถด้านทักษะการแสวงหาความรู้ด้วยตนเอง รักการเรียนรู้ และพัฒนาตนเองอย่างต่อเนื่อง วัตถุประสงค์หลักของการศึกษาครั้งนี้คือ เพื่อกิจกรรมการอ่านปัจจัยทางด้านทางพุทธศาสนา และสังคมที่มีอิทธิพลต่อการเข้าร่วมกิจกรรมการอ่านทางพุทธศาสนาของเยาวชนไทย โดยการวิจัยครั้งนี้ สามารถนำเสนอภาพรวมการเข้าร่วมกิจกรรมการอ่านทางพุทธศาสนาของเยาวชนไทยในยุคนี้ และคาดว่าเป็นประโยชน์สำหรับผู้วิจัยในการพัฒนาการเรียนการสอน และผู้ที่เกี่ยวข้องในการสอนวิชาพระพุทธศาสนาและริเริ่มงานวิจัยที่เกี่ยวกับเยาวชนและความรู้ความเข้าใจ และการปฏิบัติตามแนวทางในพระพุทธศาสนา
