เมื่อวันที่ 5 ธ.ค. 2555 นายเทวินทร์ วงศ์วานิช ประธานเจ้าหน้าที่บริหารและกรรมการผู้จัดการใหญ่ บริษัท ปตท.สำรวจและผลิตปิโตรเลียม จำกัด (มหาชน) เปิดเผยว่า ที่ผ่านมาประสบความสำเร็จในการเจาะหลุมสำรวจ Mouia Aissa-1 (MAS-1) ซึ่งเป็นหลุมสำรวจที่ 6 ในแปลงฮาสสิ เบอร์ ราเคซ ประเทศแอลจีเรีย โดยค้นพบน้ำมันดิบในชั้นหินกักเก็บปิโตรเลียม Triassic Argilo Gréseux Inférieur (TAG-I) และได้ทำการทดสอบอัตราการไหลด้วยเทคนิค Drill Stem Test (DST) พบว่ามีอัตราการไหลของน้ำมันดิบ 5,243 บาร์เรลต่อวัน และก๊าซธรรมชาติประมาณ 5 ล้านลูกบาศก์ฟุตต่อวัน ซึ่งเป็นอัตราการไหลสูงสุดจากการเจาะหลุมสำรวจทั้งหมดที่ผ่านมาในแปลงฮาสสิ เบอร์ ราเคซ ที่เจาะสำรวจในระยะแรกตั้งแต่ปลายปี 2554 ถึงต้นปี 2556 จำนวน 9 หลุม โดยปัจจุบันได้ทำการเจาะสำรวจไปแล้ว 6 หลุม ค้นพบน้ำมันดิบ 5 หลุม และขณะนี้อยู่ระหว่างทดสอบอัตราการไหลของหลุมสำรวจที่ 7
