งานนบายเนียร์ (Bye’ nior ย่อมาจาก Good Bye senior Party) นั้นเป็นปาร์ตี้ส่วนตัวที่นักศึกษาจัดกันเอง ไม่ได้เป็นส่วนหนึ่งของกิจกรรมนักศึกษาของมหาวิทยาลัย งานบายเนียร์เป็นการเฉลิมฉลองก่อนจบการศึกษาของนักศึกษาชั้นปีสุดท้าย มีลักษณะโดดเด่นที่แตกต่างจากการเฉลิมฉลองก่อนจบการศึกษาของประเทศอื่นๆ

กล่าวคือ ในต่างประเทศปาร์ตี้ก่อนจบการศึกษาส่วนใหญ่จะถูกจัดขึ้นเองภายในกลุ่มของนักเรียนหรือนักศึกษาที่กำลังจะจบการศึกษา แต่งานบายเนียร์จะถูกจัดขึ้นโดยรุ่นน้องของนักศึกษาที่กำลังจะจบการศึกษา

ทั้งนี้ เพื่อให้รุ่นพี่สนุกสนานเฉลิมฉลองความสำเร็จของตนเอง และยังเป็นการสร้างโอกาสให้รุ่นน้องได้เจอรุ่นพี่เพื่อแสดงความรักความผูกพันธ์และขอบคุณรุ่นพี่ที่ได้ให้ความช่วยเหลือและดูแลรุ่นน้องในเรื่องการเรียนและการใช้ชีวิตในรั้วมหาวิทยาลัยมาตลอด ว่ากันว่ารุ่นน้องหลายคนยังถือโอกาสนี้ฝากเนื้อฝากตัวต่อไปในอนาคตกับรุ่นพี่ของตัวเองด้วย เผื่อว่าหากรุ่นพี่ได้ดิบได้ดีไปในวันข้างหน้า ก็จะได้กลับมาพารุ่นน้องไปได้ดิบได้ดีด้วย อะไรประมาณนั้น
