ID มี 2 กระบวนการ คือ
1.Reflex action เช่น เด็กทารกหิวนมก็ต้องร้องไห้ ฝุ่นเข้าตาก็ต้องขยี้ตา
2. Primary Process คือ การลดความเครียดโดยจินตนาการ เช่น ถ้าเราหิวเราก็นึกถึงภาพอาหารที่เราอยากกิน
