องค์สุลต่านแห่งบรูไนทรงประกาศวันเฉลิมฉลองการเข้าสู่ปี Syawai โดยเริ่มตั้งแต่วันจันทร์ที่ 21 กันยายน 2552 เป็นต้นไป พระองค์ทรงอวยพรให้ชาวมุสลิม ตลอดจนผู้ที่อยู่อาศัยในประเทศมีความเป็นอยู่ที่มั่นคงสุขภาพสมบูรณ์ยิ่งขึ้น อีกทั้งให้ทุกคนปฎิบัติตนในการดูแล สุขภาพให้แข็งแรง ระมัดระวังป้องกันการติดโรคหวัดสายพันธุ์ใหม่ 2009 ต่อไป ทรงย้ำเตือนให้ทุกคนปฏิบัติตามสุขบัญญัติของกระทรวงสาธารณสุข เช่นหลีกเลี่ยงการไปในที่มีคนหนาแน่น หรือใช้หน้ากากปิดปากและจมูก การล้างมือเสมอๆ การทานอาหารร้อน การใช้ช้อนกลาง หรือไปพบแพทย์ทันทีที่มีอาการไข้สูง เป็นต้น
