บ้านดู่ตั้งอยู่ที่หมู่3 ตำบล บ้านดู่ อำเภอเมือง จังหวัดเชียงราย ได้ชื่อมาจากการที่สมัยก่อนเคยมีต้นประดู่ขนาดใหญ่ขึ้นอยู่บริเวณเนินดอยทางด้านทิศตะวันตกของถนนสายพหลโยธิน ( ที่ตั้งของมหาวิทยาลัยราชภัฎเชียงรายในปัจจุบัน) ซึ่งต้นประดู่นั้นสามารถมองเห็นได้ในระยะไกล ประชาชนที่เดินทางผ่านไปมาจึงเรียกว่า “บ้านดู่”
