โรงเรียนมงฟอร์ตทำการเปิดสอนครั้งแรก ในวันที่ 16 พฤษภาคม พ.ศ. 2475 โดยมีภราดาซิเมออน ริโตล เป็นอธิการคนแรก และมีภราดาแอมบรอซิโอ เป็นรองอธิการ โดยระหว่างเปิดสอนขณะนั้น มีนักเรียนเพียง 22 คน โดยอาศัยเรือนไม้ข้างโบสถ์พระหฤทัย(หลังเก่า)เป็นห้องเรียนชั่วคราว

ต่อมาเมื่อโรงเรียนมีนักเรียนจำนวนมากขึ้นเรื่อยๆ ทำให้ต้องย้ายแผนกมัธยมจากเดิมที่ถนนเจริญประเทศ ไปตั้งใหม่ยังถนนมหิดล ตำบลท่าศาลา บริเวณใกล้ ๆ กับโรงเรียนกาวิละวิทยาลัย ในพื้นที่ 52 ไร่ โดยเริ่มเปิดทำการศึกษาแผนกมัธยมในบริเวณใหม่ในปี พ.ศ. 2528 และย้ายแผนกประถมกลับมายังถนนเจริญประเทศซึ่งเป็นที่ตั้งของแผนกมัธยมเดิม
