เดือนตุลาคม พ.ศ. ๒๕๓๗ โครงการส่วนพระองค์สวนจิตร ร่วมกับบริษัทสุราทิพย์ได้ขยายกำลังผลิตแอลกอฮอล์เพื่อให้มีพอใช้ผลสมกับน้ำมันเบนซินเป็นแก๊สโซฮอล์สำหรับรถยนต์ทุกคันของโครงการที่ใช้เบนซิน และในวันที่ ๑๖ พฤษภาคม พ.ศ. ๒๕๓๙ สมเด็จพระเทพรัตนราชสุดาฯ เสด็จพระราชดำเนินเปิดสถานีบริการแก๊สโซฮอล์ในโครงการส่วนพระองค์สวนจิตรลดา
งานทดลองผลิตภัณฑ์เชื้อเพลิงแบ่งเป็นหน่วยย่อย คือ
๑. โรงแอลกอฮอล์ทำหน้าที่ ผลิตเอทธิลแอลกอฮอล์ความเข้มข้นร้อยละ ๙๕ และผลิตน้ำส้มสายชูจากสับปะรดและเศษผลไม้อื่น ๆ
๒. โรงอัดแกลบ ทำหน้าที่ผลิตแกลบอัดแท่งและเผาถ่านจากแกลบอัดเพื่อจำหน่ายและใช้เป็นเชื้อเพลิงสำหรับเครื่องกำเนิดไอน้ำของโรงกลั่นแอลกอฮอล์
๓. งานพิเศษตามที่ได้รับมอบหมายให้ดูแล ได้แก่ บ้านพลังแสงอาทิตย์ เพื่อใช้ในการศึกษาทอลองเกี่ยวกับการใช้ประโยชน์จากพลังแสงอาทิตย์ และระบบนำน้ำเสียกลับมาใช้รดน้ำต้นไม้ และเป็นน้ำหล่อเย็นในการผลิตเทียนของโรงหล่อเทียนหลวงของสวนจิตรลดา
