ในปัจจุบันนี้โทรศัพท์มือถือเข้ามามีอิทธิพลต่อผู้คนทุกเพศทุกวัย ใช้พูดคุยติดต่อสื่อสารกัน ใช้เป็นเครื่องมือสืบค้นหาความรู้ พักผ่อนใจ และสร้างความบันเทิง แต่การใช้โทรศัพท์มือถือนั้นมีทั้งข้อดีและข้อเสีย คณะผู้จัดทำได้เล็งเห็นว่าโทรศัพท์มือถือเป็นสิ่งสำคัญอย่างยิ่ง จึงได้ทำการศึกษาพฤติกรรมการใช้โทรศัพท์มือถือของนักศึกษาแพทย์ชั้นปีที่ 1-3 มหาวิทยาลัยเทคโนโลยีสุรนารีปีการศึกษา 2557 ซึ่งส่งผลกระทบต่อผลการเรียน พบว่านักศึกษาแพทย์ใช้โทรศัพท์มือถือในเวลาเรียนและเวลาว่าง คิดเป็น 41.95% ไม่ใช้โทรศัพท์มือถือ คิดเป็น 35.06% ใช้โทรศัพท์มือถือในเวลาว่างเท่านั้น คิดเป็น 21.84% และใช้ในเวลาเรียนเท่านั้น คิดเป็น 0.057% เมื่อระยะเวลาในการใช้โทรศัพท์มือถือในเวลาเรียนและเวลาว่างลดลงจะทำให้ผลการเรียนเพิ่มสูงขึ้นอย่างมีนัยสำคัญ แต่หากในเวลาเรียนมีการใช้โทรศัพท์มือถือเพื่อการศึกษาด้วยก็จะทำให้ผลการเรียนเพิ่มสูงขึ้นได้เช่นกัน
