โดยโครงการทุนแลกเปลี่ยนเยาวชนไทย – นานาชาติ 1 ปีการศึกษา มีจุดมุ่งหมายที่จะเปิดโอกาสให้เยาวชนที่ผ่านการคัดเลือกเป็นตัวแทนเยาวชนไทยในฐานะยุวทูตได้เดินทางไปศึกษาและพำนักอยู่กับครอบครัวอุปถัมภ์ (Host Family) เป็นระยะเวลา 1 ปีการศึกษา ณ นานาประเทศเจ้าภาพ 14 ประเทศทั่วโลก คือ ประเทศสหรัฐอเมริกา ประเทศนิวซีแลนด์ ประเทศอังกฤษ ประเทศแคนาดา ประเทศเยอรมนี ประเทศสวิตเซอร์แลนด์ ประเทศเนเธอร์แลนด์ ประเทศนอร์เวย์ ประเทศสวีเดน ประเทศฟินแลนด์ ประเทศฝรั่งเศส ประเทศเซาท์แอฟริกา ประเทศญี่ปุ่น และประเทศสาธารณรัฐประชาชนจีน เป็นการเปิดโอกาสให้เยาวชนไทยได้มีทางเลือกทางการศึกษาเพื่อพัฒนาให้เป็นผู้นำระดับนานาชาติซึ่งต้องมีศักยภาพในการใช้ภาษาอังกฤษหรือภาษาของประเทศเจ้าภาพ
