          วันแม่เปรียบเสมือนวันแห่งความเจ็บปวดของแม่ มีทั้งความสุข และความเจ็บ มีทั้งน้ำตาที่ไหลรินออกมา พร้อมความปลื้มปิติที่เห็นลูกน้อยลืมตาออกมาดูโลกใบนี้  รู้อย่างนี้แล้ว ก็ยังมีบ่อยครั้งที่ทำให้แม่ต้องร้องไห้

         เมื่อเดือนสิงหาคมของทุกปีมาถึง ก็รู้ตัวว่าควรจะทำสิ่งดี ๆ ให้แม่ของลูกได้มีรอยยิ้ม แต่ความที่เป็นเด็กและขี้อาย ก็ยังไม่กล้าที่จะเข้าไปกอด ไปหอมแก้มแม่สักครั้ง ได้แต่นำดอกมะลิมาไหว้แม่และยิ้มอย่างเขินอาย ก็หวังว่าจะมีสักครั้งที่จะรวบรวมความกล้า เข้าไปกราบเท้าแม่สักครั้งในวันที่ไม่สายเกินไป

          ตั้งแต่เด็กจนเติบโตเป็นวัยรุ่น  แม่เฝ้าสั่งสอนให้เป็นคนดี ตั้งใจเรียนหนังสือ และแม่ก็ให้ความรักอย่างจริงใจ แม้ว่าสิ่งที่เคยทำผิดพลาดไปนับครั้งไม่ถ้วน แม่ก็ยังให้อภัยลูกคนนี้เสมอ และยังมอบรอยยิ้มทั้ง ๆ ที่แม่ ก็ต้องเสียน้ำตา ความผิดของลูกไม่ว่าจะครั้งไหน ร้ายแรงสักเพียงใด แม่ก็ยังพร้อมที่จะอ้าแขนกอดลูก ด้วยความรักเสมอมา

         ในวันนี้ ที่ลูกประสบความสำเร็จทั้งการเรียน และการงาน ได้มีโอกาสได้ตอบแทนพระคุณแม่ แม้ว่ามันจะเป็นเพียงสิ่งเล็กน้อยถ้าเทียบกับสิ่งที่ได้รับจากแม่ แต่ลูกคนนี้ก็จะขอสัญญาว่าจะไม่ทำให้แม่เสียใจอีกต่อไป จะดูแลแม่ให้เหมือนที่แม่ดูแลลูกเมื่อยังเล็ก จะไม่ให้แม่ต้องเหนื่อย ทั้งกายและใจกับลูกคนนี้ และจะรักแม่ให้มากกว่ารักตัวเอง..... รักแม่ค่ะ
