การวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาเปรียบเทียบวัฒนธรรมคติความเชื่อเรื่องสีของคนจีนและคนไทยว่ามีความเหมือน หรือแตกต่างกันอย่างไร ดำเนินการวิจัยโดยการศึกษารวบรวมข้อมูลด้านเอกสาร แล้วนำมาศึกษาวิเคราะห์ เปรียบเทียบ ซึ่งแบ่งผลการวิจัยออกเป็นความเชื่อเรื่องสีของคนจีนและคนไทยที่เหมือนกัน และความเชื่อเรื่องสีของคนจีนและคนไทยที่แตกต่างกัน ผลการวิจัยสรุปได้ว่า คนจีนและคนไทยมีความเชื่อเกี่ยวกับสีเขียวและสีดำเหมือนกัน และคนจีนและคนไทยมีความเชื่อเกี่ยวกับสีแดง สีขาว และสีเหลืองที่แตกต่างกัน
