ชาวจังหวัดพิจิตร จัดพิธีบวงสรวงสักการะ “พ่อปู่” หรือ พระยาโคตระบองเทวราชผู้ก่อตั้งเมืองพิจิตร และบูชาเสาหลักเมือง เพื่อความเป็นสิริมงคล เป็นการเริ่มต้นประเพณีสงกรานต์ของชาวพิจิตร ซึ่งคงเป็นจังหวัดแรกๆที่เริ่มประเพณีสงกรานต์ก่อนหลายๆจังหวัดทั่วประเทศ
วันนี้ (9 เม.ย.58) ที่ศาลหลักเมืองพิจิตร ภายในบริเวณอุทยานเมืองเก่าพิจิตร อำเภอเมืองจังหวัดพิจิตร นายสุรชัย ขันอาสา ผู้ว่าราชการจังหวัดพิจิตร ได้นาข้าราชการ พนักงานส่วนท้องถิ่น และประชาชนชาวพิจิตร ประกอบพิธีบวงสรวงสักการะรูปปั้นของพระยาโคตระบองเทวราช หรือที่ชาวพิจิตรเรียกขานกันว่า “พ่อปู่” การประกอบพิธีบวงสรวงเสาหลักเมืองพิจิตร การสรงน้าหลวงพ่อเพชรพระพุทธรูปศักดิ์สิทธิ์คู่เมืองพิจิตร รวมทั้งพระเกจิชื่อดังที่แต่ละอำเภอเคารพนับถือ เนื่องในประเพณีสงกรานต์หรือปีใหม่ไทย ที่ได้มีการจัดพิธีดังกล่าวสืบต่อกันมาเป็นเวลาหลายสิบปี เพื่อเป็นการแสดงความเคารพสักการะ “พ่อปู่” ผู้ก่อตั้งเมืองพิจิตรขึ้นเมื่อปี พ.ศ. 1601 รวมทั้งสักการะบูชา “เสาหลักเมืองพิจิตร” เพื่อเสริมสร้างความเป็นสิริมงคลแก่จังหวัดพิจิตรและประชาชนชาวพิจิตร ให้บังเกิดความร่มเย็นเป็นสุขและถือเป็นการเริ่มต้นประเพณีสงกรานต์ของจังหวัดพิจิตร พร้อมกันนี้ภายในบริเวณอุทยานเมืองเก่า สถานที่ในการจัดงาน ยังมีผลิตภัณฑ์สินคาโอท็อป ภูมิปัญญาท้องถิ่น รากวัฒนธรรมทั้ง 12 อำเภอ สินค้าอุปโภค บริโภคนำมาออกร้านจัดแสดง สาธิต และจัดจำหน่ายแก่นักท่องเที่ยวตลอดจนผู้ที่เดินทางมาร่วมงาน นอกจากนี้ช่วงกลางคืน ยังมีไฮไลท์สาคัญ การแสดง แสง สี เสียง ย้อนรอยประวัติศาสตร์เมืองพิจิตร ในชุด “ยอยศยิ่งฟ้า พระยาโคตรตะบองผู้สร้างเมืองพิจิตร”อย่างยิ่งใหญ่ตระการตา โดยผู้ว่าราชการจังหวัดพร้อมหัวหน้าส่วนราชการในพื้นที่จังหวัดพิจิตร จะร่วมแสดงเพื่อถ่ายทอดความเป็นมาก่อนเป็นเมืองพิจิตรจวบจนปัจจุบัน
