ดร. ศุภชัย สิงห์ยะบุศย์ เกิด พ.ศ. 2504 ที่ อำเภอจตุรพักตรพิมาน จังหวัดร้อยเอ็ด เป็นนักเขียนเรื่องสั้น เรื่อง คนเถื่อน และเข้ารอบสุดท้ายรางวัลซีไรท์ ประเภท เรื่องสั้น ปี 2536[1]
อ.ศุภชัย สำเร็จการศึกษาระดับปริญญาเอก ปร.ด. ไทศึกษา (Tai Studies) จากมหาวิทยาลัยมหาสารคาม ปริญญาโท กศ.ม.ศิลปศึกษา มศว.ประสานมิตร ปริญญาตรี กศ.บ. ศิลปศึกษา มศว.มหาสารคาม และระดับอนุปริญญา ประกาศนียบัตรการศึกษาชั้นสูง (ปก.ศ.สูง) สาขาศิลปศึกษา วิทยาลัยครูบุรีรัมย์

อัคนีแฝงตัวเข้าไปในไร่สมันดง สืบหาคนฆ่าคิมห์และได้เจอกับสมัน สมันช็อคที่หน้าของอัคนีเหมือนกับศพที่พบท้ายไร่ แต่อัคนียืนยันว่าไม่รู้จักคิมห์ สมันสงสัยในตัวอัคนีจึงจ้องจับผิด กลับถูกอัคนีกวนประสาททุกครั้ง จนทั้งคู่กลายเป็นไม้เบื่อไม้เมากัน แต่อัคนีกลับถูกใจในความกล้าไม่ยอมใครของสมัน อัคนีได้เข้าทำงานในไร่ของบาง ทำให้สมันโกรธไม่ยอมญาติดีกับอัคนี เพราะคิดว่าเป็นพวกเดียวกับ บาง บานชื่น (แอริน ยุกตะทัต) ลูกสาวของบางเห็นอัคนีก็หลงรัก ทำให้วงแค้นอัคนี เพราะวงแอบหลงรักบานชื่น ฟากเผด็จตามสืบเรื่องคิมห์จากนุชกานดาทำให้ทั้งคู่ใกล้ชิดกันจนเริ่มมีใจให้ กัน
