ปัจจุบันนี้การศึกษาไทยมีการพัฒนามากขึ้นเรื่อยๆ เพื่อให้ก้าวทันประเทศที่มีความเจริญทั้งทางด้านการศึกษา เศรษฐกิจ และสังคม โดยเน้นให้ผู้เรียนมีความรู้รอบด้านและสามารถนาไปใช้ได้ในทุกๆสายอาชีพ เห็นได้จากการศึกษาในด้านวิชาต่างๆที่เริ่มนำภาษาอังกฤษเข้ามาใช้และการเรียนภาษาอังกฤษที่เพิ่มมากขึ้น เพื่อให้พัฒนาปประเทศที่กำลังจะก้าวเข้าสู่สมาคมอาเซียน(สมาคมประชาชาติแห่งเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ Association of South East AsianNations ) ในปี พ.ศ.2558
อาเซียน คือ สมาคมประชาชาติแห่งเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ ซึ่งประกอบไปด้วย 10 ประเทศ ได้แก่ ประเทศไทย ลาว เวียดนาม สิงคโปร์ พม่า กัมพูชา มาเลเชีย บรูไน อินโดนีเซีย และฟิลิปปินส์ มีจุดประสงค์เพื่อ ส่งเสริมความเจริญเติบโตทางเศรษฐกิจ ความก้าวหน้าทางสังคมและวัฒนธรรม ส่งเสริมการมีเสถียรภาพ สันติภาพและความมั่นคงของภูมิภาค ส่งเสริมความร่วมมือทางเศรษฐกิจ สังคม วัฒนธรรม วิชาการ วิทยาศาสตร์ และด้านการบริหาร ส่งเสริมความร่วมมือซึ่งกันและกันในการฝึกอบรมและการวิจัยส่งเสริมความร่วมมือในด้านเกษตรกรรมและอุตสาหกรรม การค้า การคมนาคม การสื่อสาร และปรับปรุงมาตรฐานการดำรงชีวิต ส่งเสริมการมีหลักสูตรการศึกษาเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ ส่งเสริมความร่วมมือกับองค์กรระดับภูมิภาคและองค์กรระหว่างประเทศ ใช้สัญลักษณ์ รูปรวงข้าวสีเหลืองบนพื้นสีแดงล้อมรอบด้วยวงกลมวีขาวและสีน้ำเงินรวงข้าว 10 ต้น มัดรวมกันไว้ หมายถึง ประเทศสมาชิกรวมกันเพื่อมิตรภาพและความเป็นน้ำหนึ่งในเดียวกัน สัญลักษณ์ประกอบไปด้วย 4 สี คือ สีน้ำเงิน สีแดง สีขาว และสีเหลือง
ใน ปี 2558 จะมีการเปิดอาเซียน เราทุกคนสามารถไปทำงาน ในกลุ่มประเทศอาเซียนได้ โดยใช้ภาษาอังกฤษซึ่งเป็นภาษาสากล และยังเป็นภาษาทางการของกลุ่มประเทศอาเซียน ภาษาอังกฤษจึงเป็นภาษาที่มีความสำคัญมากขึ้น การพัฒนาภาษาอังกฤษและวิชาอื่นๆจึงต้องเพิ่มมากขึ้น เพื่อให้เราสามารถตามประเทศได้ทันและไม่เสียเปรียบในด้านต่างๆ
