การดำเนินงานศูนย์บริการข้อมูลธุรกิจ มีจุดแข็งและข้อจำกัด (ภาวะคุกคาม) ที่สำคัญ จึงควรใช้มาตรการเชิงรับมากกว่าเชิงรุก ส่วนปัญหาและอุปสรรคของการดำเนินงาน พบว่า คือ เจ้าหน้าที่ไม่มีการเติบโตในสายงาน และการสืบค้นข้อมูลยังเป็นการยากอยู่เพราะ สปป.ลาว ปิดกั้นข้อมูลบางส่วน จึงนำมาสู่แนวทางในการพัฒนาศูนย์บริการข้อมูลธุรกิจ ทั้ง 3 ด้าน คือ ด้านบุคลากร ด้านข้อมูล และด้านการบริการข้อมูล
