ทศท.ได้แปลงสภาพเป็นบริษัท ทศท คอร์ปอเรชั่น จำกัด (มหาชน) เมื่อวันที่ 31 กรกฎาคม พ.ศ. 2545 (ต่อมาเปลี่ยนชื่อเป็นบริษัท ทีโอที จำกัด (มหาชน) และ กสท. ได้จดทะเบียนเป็นบริษัท กสท โทรคมนาคม จำกัด(มหาชน) เมื่อวันที่ 14 สิงหาคม พ.ศ. 2546
