วันนี้ (13 กรกฎาคม 2557) ที่เฟซบุ๊ก เสรี สุวรรณภานนท์ ของนายเสรี สุวรรณภานนท์ อดีตสมาชิกวุฒิสภากรุงเทพมหานคร อดีตสมาชิกสภาร่างรัฐธรรมนูญ พ.ศ. 2550 และสภาร่างรัฐธรรมนูญ พ.ศ. 2539 ได้มีการโพสต์ข้อความในหัวข้อการปฏิรูปประเทศกับการปฏิรูปการเมืองว่า สิ่งที่ทำให้การเมืองในประเทศไทยไม่เดินหน้านั้น เป็นเพราะการทุจริตคอร์รัปชั่น อีกทั้งนักการเมืองไทย มองการเมืองเป็นเรื่องของธุรกิจ มากกว่าการสร้างประโยชน์ให้กับประเทศชาติ โดยใช้ประชาธิปไตยหรือการเลือกตั้งบังหน้า

คนที่เล่นการเมือง ทั้งในระดับชาติและระดับท้องถิ่น "ส่วนใหญ่" จึงเป็นคนที่ต้องใช้เงินในการแลกตำแหน่ง ทำให้คนเหล่านี้ ก็จะต้องเข้ามาถอนทุนและหาผลประโยชน์ ด้วยการใช้ตำแหน่งหน้าที่ เพื่อการทุจริตคอร์รัปชั่น
