มลพิษทางอากาศ(Air Pollution)
หมายถึง ภาวะอากาศที่มีสารเจือปนอยู่ในปริมาณที่สูงกว่าระดับปกติ
เป็นเวลานานพอที่จะทำให้เกิดอันตรายแก่มนุษย์ สัตว์ พืช หรือทรัพย์สินต่างๆ
อาจเกิดขึ้นเองตามธรรมชาติ เช่น ฝุ่นละอองจากลมพายุ ภูเขาไฟระเบิด
แผ่นดินไหว ไฟไหม้ป่าก๊าซธรรมชาติอากาศเสียที่เกิดขึ้นโดยธรรมชาติเป็น
อันตรายต่อมนุษย์น้อยมากเพราะแหล่งกำเนิดอยู่ไกลและปริมาณที่เข้าสู่
สภาพแวดล้อมของมนุษย์และสัตว์มีน้อยกรณีที่เกิดจากการกระทำของ
มนุษย์ได้แก่มลพิษจากท่อไอเสียของรถยนต์จากโรงงานอุตสาหกรรมจาก
ขบวนการผลิตจากกิจกรรมด้านการเกษตรจากการระเหยของก๊าซบางชนิด
ซึ่งเกิดจากขยะมูลฝอยและของเสีย



แหล่งกำเนิดสารมลพิษทางอากาศ

แหล่งกำเนิดมลพิษทางอากาศที่สำคัญของประเทศไทย แบ่งเป็น 2 กลุ่ม
ใหญ่ๆดังนี้
1.แหล่งกำเนิดจากยานพาหนะ

ที่ติดขัดทำให้รถเคลื่อนตัวได้ด้วยความเร็วต่ำ มีการหยุดและออกตัว
บ่อยครั้ง ขึ้นน้ำมันถูกเผาผลาญมากขึ้น การสันดาปของน้ำมันเชื้อเพลิง
ไม่สมบูรณ์ และมีการระบายสารมลพิษทางท่อไอเสียในสัดส่วนที่เพิ่มมากขึ้น ดังนั้นบริเวณที่ใกล้ถนนที่มีการจราจรติดขัด จะมีปัญหามลพิษทางอากาศ

2.แหล่งกำเนิดจากโรงงานอุตสาหกรรม

ไหม้เชื้อเพลิงและกระบวนการผลิต ซึ่งเป็นตัวการสำคัญที่ก่อให้เกิดผลกระทบ
ต่อคุณภาพอากาศในบรรยากาศและอาจส่งผล กระทบต่อสุขภาพอนามัย
ของประชาชนในชุมชน โดยทั่วไปหรือก่อให้เกิดความเดือดร้อนรำคาญ
เชื้อเพลิงที่ใช้สำหรับอุตสาหกรรมมีอยู่ 3 ประเภทใหญ่ ๆ ด้วยกัน คือ
" เชื้อเพลิงที่เป็นของแข็ง
" เชื้อเพลิงที่เป็นของเหลว ได้แก่ น้ำมันเตา และน้ำมันดีเซล
" เชื้อเพลิงที่เป็นก๊าซ ได้แก่ ก๊าซธรรมชาติ และก๊าซ LPG

แนวทางการแก้ไขปัญหามลพิษทางอากาศ
1. กำหนดให้มีและบังคับใช้มาตรฐานคุณภาพอากาศ
2. สำรวจและตรวจสอบคุณภาพอากาศจากแหล่งกำเนิดต่างๆ
เป็นประจำ
3. ลดปริมาณมลพิษทางอากาศจากแหล่งกำเนิด ทำได้โดยการ
เปลี่ยนชนิดของเชื้อเพลิงที่ใช้ การ ปรับปรุงกระบวนการผลิต การลด
มลพิษจากยานพาหนะ
4. ใช้มาตรการทางกฎหมายเพื่อควบคุมมลพิษทางอากาศตาม
พรบ.สิ่งแวดล้อม พ.ศ.2535 พระราชบัญญัติโรงงาน พ.ศ.2535
เช่น ประกาศเรื่อง มาตรฐานการระบายมลพิษ ประกาศเรื่อง
มาตรฐานคุณภาพอากาศในบรรยากาศ เป็นต้น
5. เผยแพร่ความรู้แก่ผู้ประกอบการและประชาชนได้รับทราบและ
เข้าใจเกี่ยวกับความสำคัญของ อากาศบริสุทธิ์และอันตรายที่เกิด
จากมลพิษทางอากาศ รวมถึงให้ทราบระเบียบ กฎเกณฑ์ มาตรฐาน
ต่างๆ ที่ทางราชการกำหนดขึ้นเพื่อควบคุมมลพิษทางอากาศ
และเพื่อให้ประชาชนปฏิบัติตามได้อย่างถูกต้อง
