โดยมีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาถึงพฤติกรรมและปัจจัยที่มีผลต่อการเลือกใช้ก๊าซธรรมชาติ การศึกษานี้วิธีการดำเนินการงานวิจัยที่ใช้ในการวิจัยนี้คือการสำรวจ (Survey method).

โดยทำการเก็บรวบรวมข้อมูลจากกลุ่มตัวอย่างจากนั้นนำข้อมูลที่ได้รับมาทำการวิเคราะห์ในเชิงปริมาณเพื่อสรุปผล.

ประชากรของการวิจัยในครั้งนี้คือประชาชนในเขตอำเภอเมืองจังหวัดขอนแก่นจำนวน 403,454 คน โดยการสุ่มผู้ที่ใช้รถยนต์ที่ติดตั้งก๊าซธรรมชาติ.

กลุ่มตัวอย่างของการวิจัยผู้วิจัยได้กำหนดขนาดของตัวอย่างจำนวน 400 ตัวอย่างในการเก็บข้อมูลจากกลุ่มตัวอย่างโดยใช้เทคนิคการสุ่มตัวอย่าง.

จากการศึกษา พบว่าผู้ใช้รถยนต์ในเขตอำเภอเมือง จังหวัดขอนแก่น มีเพศชายมากกว่าเพศหญิง โดยส่วนมากในช่วงอายุระหว่าง31-35 ปี อาชีพรับราชการ/รัฐวิสาหกิจ .

ในส่วนของสาเหตุของพฤติกรรมและปัจจัยที่มีอิทธิพลต่อการเลือกใช้รถยนต์ระบบก๊าซธรรมชาติในเขตอำเภอเมืองจังหวัดขอนแก่น .

ปัจจัยที่มีผลต่อการตัดสินใจติดตั้งก๊าซธรรมชาติ ส่วนใหญ่พบว่าด้านผลิตภัณฑ์ก๊าซธรรมชาติมีคุณภาพที่ไม่ส่งผลต่อเครื่องยนต์.

ด้านราคาก๊าซธรรมชาติ ราคาถูกเมื่อเทียบกับราคาน้ำมัน .

ด้านสถานที่ สถานีบริการติดตั้งได้มาตรฐานและมีเพียงพอ .

ด้านการส่งเสริมการขายมีการประชาสัมพันธ์จากรัฐบาลให้หันมาใช้ก๊าซธรรมชาติ.
