ในปัจจุบันประเทศไทยมีอัตราการผ่าคลอดที่เพิ่มสูงขึ้น จากการสำรวจของข้อมูลแม่และเด็กไทยของเขตสาธารณสุข 45 ตั้งแต่ปี 2553-2555 พบว่า มีอัตราการผ่าคลอดร้อยละ 29.51, 31.06 และ 31.30 ตามลำดับ
