General requirement
The Contractor shall supply, install, connect, test and commission a complete
system of safety grounding and lightning protection in accordance with the Drawings
and specified herein.
All metal conduits, trunking and tray systems, supports, cabinets, metal parts of
switchgear, equipment cases, motor frames electrical fittings and fixed appliances
liable to become live in the event of insulation failure, shall be effectively earthed by
means of earth continuity conductors of adequate size.

The grounding and lightning protection system shall comply with the following codes
and standards:

IEC 62305-2 : Protection against lightning - Risk management.
IEC 62305-3 : Protection against lightning - Physical damage to structures and life hazard
EIT 2003-43 : Lightning protection system against for buildings
TIS : Thai Industrial Standards

The Contractor shall submit material lists or catalogue
for approval before purchasing
The Contractor shall submit the installation method and details
for approval before installation
Warranty
All materials and installation shall be guaranteed by the contractor at least two (2) years
years after handover.
Materials
Description
Grounding System
The material for grounding and lightning protection system shall consist of ground
rods, ground conductors, ground test boxes, lightning down conductors, lightning
roof conductors, air terminals and accessories interconnected for the complete system.
Component
Grounding System
All non-current carrying metallic parts of the electrical equipment shall be grounded.
The transformer star points shall terminate at a copper grounding conductor
bar located in the electrical room. The transformer grounding cables shall be
connected from this bar to the done by M&E's contractor. The grounding
cables shall also be connected from this bar to the ground bar of main
switchboard done by the Contractor.
All grounding conductors within power cables shall be terminated at the
switchboard ground bar by means of lugged cable connections.
Before passing through the Zero-phase-sequence current transformer, the
neutral wire shall be grounded only to the grounding busbar of the main
switchboard.
The grounding conductor size of electrical equipment shall be insulated
copper cable specified in table 19.11.1.
The connection of grounding conductor installed underground shall be done
by exothermic welding.
Ground rods shall be copper clad steel, 16 mm x 3 m.
Grounding clamps connector be able to use for ground connection installed
above ground.
Ground resistance of grounding system shall not be grater than 2 ohm.

Lightning Protection System
Lightning protection shall be provided as indicated on the Drawings. The
lightning down conductor shall be terminated at ground grounding system.
The down conductor from the air termination on roof to the ground system is
preferred to install straight as possible.
The protection system shall consist of air terminals, roof conductor, down
conductors, grounding and all necessary accessories.
Air terminal shall be copper clad steel, 16 mm x 0.60 m or as specified on
the relevant drawings.

Down conductor and roof conductor shall be bare stranded copper condutor
or copper tape with the minimum cross sectional area not less then 70 mm²
or as specified on the Drawings.
The support saddle of conductor shall be fixed as the following table.

Execution
Installation
All equipment shall be installed on the location as indicated on the Drawings and
conforming to the standard as specified.
Testing and Commissioning
The ground resistance, measured by the earth tester equipment, shall be not more
