บทที่ 4
เครื่องมือวัดผลและการวิเคราะห์ผลการทดสอบคุณภาพ

วัตถุประสงค์ของโครงการนี้ เพื่อศึกษาหาชนิดของสี โดยศึกษาความเป็นไปได้ในการผลิตสารเคลือบผิวไม้ที่ได้มาจากวัสดุธรรมชาติ และมีคุณสมบัติที่เทียบเท่าหรือพอทดแทนสีแลกเกอร์ทั่วไปที่มีในท้องตลาดที่ไม่เป็นมิตรกับสิ่งแวดล้อม โดยนำผลการทดลองของสีเคลือบไม้จากน้ำยางพารา ผ่านเครื่องมือวัดผลและวิเคราะห์ผลการทดลอง โดยผู้ทดลองได้ศึกษาเครื่องมือ และเลือกนำเฉพาะเครื่องมือบางตัวมาใช้ในการวัดผลการทดลองดังรายละเอียดต่อไปนี้

4.1 ทำความเข้าใจกับมาตรฐานสากล DIN, EN, ISO และมาตรฐานอื่นๆที่ใช้เป็นเครื่องมือในการทดสอบคุณภาพของสีเคลือบผิวไม้ในงานอุตสาหกรรม
DIN ย่อมาจาก Deutsches Institut fur Normung คือมาตรฐานจาก German Institute for Standardization ซึ่งงานไม้เฟอร์นิเจอร์ในกลุ่มประเทศทางยุโรป ประเทศเยอรมันได้รับการยอมรับกันอย่างแพร่หลายในเรื่องมาตรฐานการผลิต และคุณภาพ DIN จึงเป็นมาตรฐานที่ยอมรับกันทั่วทั้งยุโรป ซึ่งความจริง DIN จะเป็นมาตรฐานกำหนดที่ใช้กันในเยอรมันเท่านั้น
EN หรือ European Standard คือมาตรฐานจากกลุ่มประเทศในยุโรป ที่ให้การยอมรับการมาตรฐานนี้ในกลุ่มประเทศทางยุโรปบางครั้งจะเห็นว่ามีการใช้ DIN EN ร่วมกันอยู่หลายมาตรฐาน
ASTM หรือ American Society for testing and Materials คือมาตรฐานทางอเมริกา
ISO หรือ International Organization for Standardization คือมาตรฐานคุณภาพสากล
JIS หรือ Japanese Industrial Standard คือมาตรฐานทางประเทศญี่ปุ่น
SIS หรือ Swedish Standards Instute คือมาตรฐานทางประเทศสวีเดน
มอก. หรือ มาตรฐานอุตสาหกรรม ประเทศไทยใช้ มอก. หรือ มาตรฐานอุตสาหกรรมในการทดสอบคุณภาพ และใช้เป็นการรองรับ หรือ รับประกันสินค้าที่ขายกันในประเทศเช่นเดียวกับ DIN ที่ใช้กันในเยอรมัน แต่ มอก.ยังไม่เป็นที่ยอมรับของมาตรฐานสากล มอก.จึงใช้ได้เฉพาะในเมืองไทย หรือประเทศเพื่อนบ้านเท่านั้น และเนื่องจากผู้ทดลองมีความคุ้นเคยกับมาตรฐานสากล จึงขออนุญาตใช้เครื่องมือจากมาตรฐานสากลในการทดสอบ

ในบางครั้ง เรายังเห็น มาตรฐาน EN ISO ด้วยเช่นกัน ในการทดสอบผลการทดลองนี้ ได้มีมาตรฐาน ที่รวม DIN, EN และ ISO ด้วยเช่นกัน คือ มาตรฐานการทดสอบการทำ Cross Cut ซึ่งมาตรฐานของเยอรมันคือ DIN 53151 ซึ่ง ทางมาตรฐานสากล ใช้ ISO 2409 และตรงกับมาตรฐานอเมริกาคือ ASTM D 3359 โดยในปัจจุบัน มาตรฐานที่เหมือนกันทั้ง 3 มาตรฐานนี้ รวมเรียก DIN EN ISO 2409
