เพื่อสนองในพระมหากรุณาธิคุณของพระองค์ ที่ทรงเป็นห่วงความปลอดภัยในการทำงานของผู้ใช้แรงงาน และประกอบกับในปี ๒๕๕๘ เป็นปีที่พระองค์ทรงมีพระชนมายุครบ ๖๐ พรรษา กรมสวัสดิการและคุ้มครองแรงงาน กระทรวงแรงงาน ได้ดำเนินการรองรับเพื่อการป้องกันอุบัติเหตุและโรคจากการทำงาน ดังนี้
๑. รัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงแรงงาน ประกาศให้ ปี ๒๕๕๘ ปีแห่งการรณรงค์สร้างจิตสำนึกความปลอดภัยในการทำงาน “เซฟตี้มายด์”
