การวิจัยครั้งนี้เป็นการวิจัยเชิงสำรวจแบบภาคตัดขวาง เพื่อศึกษาบทบาทของอาสาสมัครสาธารณสุขในการดำเนินงานป้องกันและควบคุมโรคติดต่อตามแนวชายแดน และปัจจัยที่มีความสัมพันธ์กับบทบาทของอาสาสมัครสาธารณสุขในการดำเนินงานป้องกันและควบคุมโรคติดต่อตามแนวชายแดน ตำบลไชยบุรี อำเภอท่าอุเทน จังหวัดนครพนม กลุ่มตัวอย่าง คือ อาสาสมัครสาธารณสุขตำบลไชยบุรี อำเภอท่าอุเทน จังหวัดนครพนม จำนวนทั้งหมด 171 คน เก็บข้อมูลโดยใช้แบบสอบถาม ระหว่างวันที่ 25 พฤศจิกายน ถึง 3 ธันวาคม 2558 วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลโดยใช้ความถี่ ร้อยละ ค่าเฉลี่ย ส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน การวิเคราะห์ไคสแควร์ และสัมประสิทธิ์สหสัมพันธ์ของเพียร์สัน ผลการศึกษา พบว่า อาสาสมัครสาธารณสุขส่วนใหญ่มีบทบาทในการดำเนินงานป้องกันและควบคุมโรคติดต่อตามแนวชายแดน ตำบลไชยบุรี อำเภอท่าอุเทน จังหวัดนครพนม ในระดับมาก ร้อยละ 81.9 ระดับปานกลาง ร้อยละ 15.8 และระดับน้อย ร้อยละ 2.3 ส่วนปัจจัยที่มีความสัมพันธ์กับบทบาทของอาสาสมัครสาธารณสุขในการดำเนินงานป้องกันและควบคุมโรคติดต่อตามแนวชายแดน อย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติ (p-value
