ประเพณีบุญข้าวสาก
     การทำบุญข้าวสาก  นิยมทำเป็นประจำทุกปี ทำข้าวปลาอาหารอุทิศให้ ผู้ล่วงลับไปแล้ว มีคำอุทิศส่วนกุศลและความประสงค์ว่าจะบริจาคทานให้แก่ผู้ใด โดยบอกชื่อผู้ที่จะ มารับส่วนกุศลด้วย
     บุญข้าวสาก เป็นการทำบุญอย่างหนึ่งของประเพณีสิบสองเดือนของชาวอีสาน โดยมีจุดประสงค์สำคัญ เพื่อมุ่งอุทิศส่วนกุศลให้ญาติสนิท เช่น ปู่ ย่า ตา ยาย บิดา มารดา สามี ภรรยา พี่น้องที่ถึงแก่กรรมไปแล้ว และอาจอุทิศให้ เปรตทั่วไปด้วย
 ชาวบ้านจะเตรียมอาหารชนิดต่างๆ มีทั้งข้าว เนื้อ ปลา ข้าวเม่า ข้าวพอง ข้าวตอก ขนม และอาหารคาวหวานอื่น ไว้สำหรับทำบุญ สำหรับข้าวเม่า ข้าพอง และข้าวตอกแต่บางท้องถิ่นไม่นำข้าเม่า ข้าพอง และข้าวตอก มาคลุกเข้าด้วยกัน เมื่อเตรียมสิ่งของทำบุญเรียบร้อย แล้ว ชาวบ้านจะเอาข้าวปลาอาหารที่มีอยู่ไปส่งญาติพี่น้องและผู้รักใคร่นับถือ สิ่งของเหล่านี้มักแลกเปลี่ยนกัน ไปมา ระหว่างญาติพี่น้องและเพื่อนบ้านที่อยู่ใกล้เรือนเคียง ถือว่าเป็นการได้บุญ

     ตอนสาย ชาวบ้านจะนำข้าวปลาอาหารที่เตรียมไว้ เป็นข้าวสาก ไปวัดอีกครั้งหนึ่งจัดใส่เป็นห่อทำเป็นกระทงด้วยใบตองกล้วย
     เมื่อเสร็จพิธีถวายข้าวสากแล้ว ช้าวบ้านที่ไปร่วมพิธี ยังนิยมเอาชะลอมหรือห่อข้าวสากไปวางไว้ตามที่ต่าง ๆ  ในบริเวณวัด พร้อมจุดเทียนและบอกกล่าวให้ญาติ หรือเปรตผู้ล่วงลับไปแล้วมารับเอาอาหารต่างๆที่วางไว้ และขอให้มารับส่วนกุศลที่ทำบุญอุทิศไปให้ด้วย ถวายข้าวสากแด่พระภิกษุสามเณร และนำอาหารไปวางไว้ตามบริเวณวัดเสร็จแล้ว ก็มีการฟังเทศน์และกรวดน้ำอุทิศส่วนกุศล ไปให้เปรตและญาติผู้ล่วงลับไปแล้วด้วย นอกจากนี้ ผู้ที่มีนา จะนำข้าวสากไปเลี้ยง "ตาแฮก" ที่นาของตน เพื่อให้ตาแฮกรักษานาและให้ข้าวกล้าอุดมสมบูรณ์
