ความเป็นมา
นางประยงค์ หวังอารี ได้ขอพระราชทานน้อมเกล้าฯ ถวายที่ดิน จำนวน 1 แปลง มีเนื้อที่ 20 ไร่ ตั้งอยู่ที่ตำบลท่าเสา อำเภอกระทุ่มแบน จังหวัดสมุทรสาคร โดยสำนักงานมูลนิธิชัยพัฒนาได้รับโอนที่ดินดังกล่าว เมื่อวันที่ 8 เมษายน 2547
พระราชดำริ
สมเด็จพระเทพรัตนราชสุดาฯ สยามบรมราชกุมารี มีพระราโชบายในการพัฒนาที่ดินโดยพิจารณาจากสภาพภูมิสังคม และการประกอบอาชีพของราษฎรเป็นสำคัญ สำนักงานมูลนิธิชัยพัฒนา จึงสนองพระราโชบายโดยนำโครงการแปลงสาธิตการทำนาแบบปลอดสารพิษ มาทดลองใช้ในที่ดินของมูลนิธิชัยพัฒนาที่มีเกษตรกรเช่าที่ดินทำนาอยู่

ผลการดำเนินงาน
สำนักงานมูลนิธิชัยพัฒนาร่วมกับหน่วยงานที่รับผิดชอบดำเนินโครงการแปลงสาธิตการทำนา ในที่ดินของมูลนิธิชัยพัฒนา ในพื้นที่ตำบลท่าเสาธง อำเภอกระทุ่มแบน จังหวัดสมุทรสาคร ซึ่งเป็นแปลงนาที่ให้ราษฎรเช่าทำนา โดยแบ่งเป็น 2 ส่วน คือแปลงสำหรับการสาธิต และแปลงของเกษตรกร

ผลการดำเนินงาน

สำนักงานมูลนิธิชัยพัฒนาร่วมกับกรมส่งเสริมการเกษตร ดำเนินงานโครงการสาธิตการทำนาแบบปลอดภัยจากสารพิษ ในที่ดินของมูลนิธิชัยพัฒนา ในพื้นที่จังหวัดสมุทรสงคราม มีราษฎรสนใจเข้าเป็นสมาชิกโรงการ จำนวน 12 ราย ดำเนินการปลูกข้าวพันธุ์สุพรรณบุรี 1 ในพื้นที่แปลงสาธิต จำนวน 24 ไร่ แบ่งเป็น แปลงของมูลนิธิชัยพัฒนา จำนวน 20 ไร่ และแปลงเรียนรู้ของเกษตรกร จำนวน 4 ไร่ พบว่า เกษตรกรผู้เข้าร่วมโครงการฯ ที่เข้ารับการฝึกอบรม มีความเข้าใจในเนื้อหาการอบรมเกี่ยวกับการทำเกษตรแบบปลอดสารพิษ และสามารถนำความรู้ไปใช้ประโยชน์ได้เป็นอย่างดี โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งด้านพันธุ์ข้าว การขยายพันธุ์ข้าว รวมทั้งการลดการใช้สารเคมี เพื่อลดอันตรายต่อสุขภาพ และเพื่อลดต้นทุนในการผลิต พร้อมทั้งได้รับความรู้จากการอบรมที่มีประโยชน์ และสามารถนำมาใช้ในการทำงานได้จริง โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งเทคโนโลยีใหม่ เช่น การปลูกข้าวด้วยวิธีโยนกล้า เพื่อลดปัญหาวัชพืชข้าว

สำหรับฤดูการเพาะปลูกในปี 2550 - 2551 เกษตรกรสามารถผลิตข้าวเปลือกจากแปลงที่ใช้ระบบชีววิธีได้ จำนวน 723 กิโลกรัม
การดำเนินงานในระยะต่อไป

1. ดำเนินการเปิดการฝึกอบรมการทำนาแบบชีววิธีเป็นรุ่นที่ 5 ในพื้นที่ และมีเป้าหมายในการฝึกอบรมเกษตรกรในโครงการ จำนวน 200 คน

2. ดำเนินการรับซื้อข้าว จากเกษตรกรในโครงการฯ ที่ผ่านการตรวจสอบคุณภาพของข้าว โดยหน่วยงานราชการ และส่งต่อให้แก่โรงสีข้าวของโครงการฯ เพื่อทำการสี และบรรจุถุง พร้อมทั้งจัดจำหน่ายให้แก่บุคคลทั่วไป เพื่อเพิ่มมูลค่าข้าว
