แต่ก่อนนั้นคนไทยมีความคิดว่า ภาษาไทยเป็นภาษแม่ เราไม่เป็นเมืองขึ้นของใคร เราไม่จำเป็นต้องเข้าใจภาษาของประเทศอื่น แต่ในปัจจุบันนี้เป็นยุคโลกไร้พรมแดน เราจะต้องพึ่งพาคนต่างชาติ ภาษาอังกฤษจึงเป็นภาษากลางที่คนไทยจะต้องเรียน
