สำนักงานพัฒนาธุรกรรมทางอิเล็กทรอนิกส์ หรือ สพธอ. กระทรวงเทคโนโลยีสารสนเทศและการสื่อสาร ( MICT ) จัดแถลง รายงานสรุปผลสำรวจพฤติกรรมของผู้ใช้Facebook ในจังหวัดเชียงใหม่ ประจำปี 2014 เพื่อทราบว่าคนส่วนใหญ่ในเชียงใหม่ ใช้งานFacebookทำอะไร และใช้งานอย่างไร ? โดยที่น่าสนใจคือคนไทยสั่งซื้อของทางFacebook เพิ่มขึ้นแบบก้าวกระโดด ผลสำรวจพฤติกรรมของผู้ใช้Facebookในประเทศไทย ประจำปี 2014 นี้ มีผู้ตอบแบบสำรวจมา 16,596 ราย ซึ่งส่วนใหญ่เป็นกลุ่มคนข้าราชการ , พนักงานหรือลูกจ้างเอกชน และ กลุ่มนักเรียนนักศึกษา เป็น 3 อันดับแรกที่ตอบแบบสำรวจมากที่สุด ทั้งนี้จากกลุ่มผู้ตอบแบบสำรวจ ส่วนใหญ่ใช้งาน Facebook มากกว่า 5 ปีแล้ว ค่าเฉลี่ยของการใช้ ต่อสัปดาห์เพิ่มสูงขึ้นเมื่อเทียบกับปี 2556 ซึ่งมี ตัวเลขการใช้งานเน็ตโดยเฉลี่ย 32.3 ชั่วโมงต่อสัปดาห์ หรือใช้เวลาโดยประมาณ 4.6 ชั่วโมงต่อวัน พอมาปี 2557 นี้ ตัวเลขการใช้งานFacebookโดยเฉลี่ย เพิ่มขึ้นเป็น 50.4 ชั่วโมงต่อสัปดาห์ หรือใช้เวลาโดยประมาณ 7.2 ชั่วโมงต่อวัน ( หรือคิดเป็น 1 ใน 3 ของวันเพื่อใช้งานFacebook )
