ราวกลางเดือนตุลาคม หรือ ช่วงต้นเดือนพฤศจิกายนของทุกปีทานสลาก หรือก๋วยสลากเป็นประเพณีเก่าแก่ที่มีมาตั้งแต่ครั้งพุทธกาล สำหรับชาวเหนือถือว่าเป็นประเพณีทำบุญกลางบ้าน ที่ยิ่งใหญ่และสำคัญเป็นเอกลักษณ์ของท้องถิ่น
