ตั้งอยู่ที่บ้านกู่ วัดกู่พระโกนา หมู่ 2 ตำบลสระคู การเดินทางจากจังหวัดร้อยเอ็ด เดินทางตามทางหลวงสาย 215 ผ่านอำเภอเมืองสรวง อำเภอสุวรรณภูมิ จากนั้นเข้าสาย 214 ไปประมาณ 12 กิโลเมตร ถึงกู่พระโกนา ระยะทางประมาณ 60 กิโลเมตรจากจังหวัด ปัจจุบันมีวัดสร้างอยู่ในบริเวณเดียวกัน มีถนนเป็นทางแยกเข้าไปทางด้านซ้ายมือ ด้านหน้าเป็นสวนยาง กู่พระโกนา ประกอบด้วย ปรางค์อิฐ 3 องค์ บนฐานศิลาทราย เรียงจากเหนือ-ใต้ ทั้งหมดหันหน้าไปทางทิศตะวันออก มีกำแพงล้อมและซุ้มประตูเข้า-ออกทั้ง 4 ด้าน ก่อด้วยหินทรายเช่นกัน ปรางค์องค์กลางถูกดัดแปลงเมื่อ พ.ศ. 2417 โดยการฉาบปูนทับและก่อขึ้นเป็นชั้นๆ แต่ละชั้นมีซุ้มพระทั้ง 4 ทิศ หน้าปรางค์องค์กลางชั้นล่างสร้างเป็นวิหารพระพุทธบาทประดับเศียรนาค 6 เศียรของเดิมไว้ด้านหน้า ส่วนปรางค์อีก 2 องค์ ก็ได้รับการบูรณะจากทางวัดเช่นกัน แต่ไม่ถึงกับเปลี่ยนรูปทรงอย่างปรางค์องค์กลาง ปรางค์องค์ทิศเหนือทางวัดสร้างศาลาครอบ ภายในมีหน้าบันสลักเรื่องรามายณะ และทับหลังสลักภาพพระนารายณ์บรรทมสินธุ์ติดอยู่ที่เดิม คือเหนือประตูทางด้านหน้า ส่วนทับหลังประตูด้านทิศตะวันตกหล่นอยู่บนพื้นเป็นรูปนารายณ์ทรงครุฑ ปรางค์องค์ทิศใต้ยังคงมีทับหลังของเดิมเหนือประตูหลอกด้านทิศเหนือเป็นภาพเทวดานั่งชันเข่าในซุ้มเรือนแก้วเหนือหน้ากาล นอกจากนี้ทางด้านหน้ายังมีทับหลังหล่นอยู่ที่พื้น เป็นภาพพระอิศวรประทับนั่งบนหลังโค และมีเสานางเรียงวางอยู่ด้วย สันนิษฐานว่า กู่พระโกนาเดิมจะมีสะพานนาคและทางเดินประดับเสานางเรียงทอดต่อไปจากซุ้มประตูหน้าไปยังสระน้ำ หรือบารายซึ่งอยู่ห่างออกไปประมาณ 300 เมตร จากรูปแบบลักษณะทางศิลปกรรมทั้งหมดของภาพสลัก และเสากรอบประตู ซึ่งเป็นศิลปะขอมที่มีอายุในราว พ.ศ. 1560-1630 (แบบบาปวน) สันนิษฐานว่ากู่พระโกนาคงจะสร้างขึ้นในราวพุทธศตวรรษที่16
