ประเพณีแห่นางแมว อ้อนวอนขอฝน

นอกจากแมวจะเข้ามาเกี่ยวข้องในพิธีเกิดและพิธีแต่งงานในวัฒนธรรมไทยแล้ว แมวยังเข้ามามีส่วนร่วมในอีกประเพณีสำคัญของไทยที่สืบทอดกันมาหลายชั่วอายุคน นั่นคือ พิธีแห่นางแมวขอฝน คนไทยในสมัยก่อนเชื่อว่า แมวเป็นสัตว์ที่มีอำนาจลึกลับศักดิ์สิทธิ์ สามารถเรียกฝนให้ตกลงมาได้ และเมื่อถึงฤดูฝน หากฝนแล้งไม่ตกต้องตามฤดูกาล

องค์ประกอบที่ใช้ในพิธีแห่นางแมว
