My Epiphany

When I was watching "The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug", I found myself completely lost in the film. I could no longer perceive a clear line of demarcation betwixt myself, who was watching, and the film, which was being watched. I became Gandalf, Bilbo, Thorin and so on.

The corollary of this occurence has led me to conclude that there is merely an act of watching; no watcher responsible for the act can be found. This experience has cast doubt on my existence.

If we keep a watchful eye on what is happening in our minds, we shall find a fusillade of different sensations fired upon us.There is no line that divides our self from those sensations. I am nothing but a heap of perception: I am coldness, heat, hunger, thirst, desire, and whatnot, just like I became those characters in the film whilst I was watching it.

We are now watching our own story- a long story full of concatenations of events. We are completely lost in our own life. And we shall be lost till the final scene of our story.
