การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีจุดประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาทักษะพื้นฐานทางคณิตศาสตร์ด้านการรู้ค่าจำนวนนับ 1-5 ที่ได้รับการจัดกิจกรรมเกมการศึกษาเกมโดมิโน และเพื่อเปรียบเทียบพัฒนาการทักษะทางคณิตศาสตร์ของเด็กปฐมวัยที่ได้รับการจัดกิจกรรมเกมการศึกษาเกมโดมิโนกลุ่มเป้าหมายที่ใช้ในการศึกษาในครั้งนี้ เป็นเด็กปฐมวัย ชาย-หญิง ที่มีอายุระหว่าง 4 - 5 ปี จำนวน 20 คน ที่กำลังศึกษาอยู่ชั้นอนุบาลปีที่ 1 ภาคเรียนที่ 1 ปีการศึกษา 2556 ที่กำลังศึกษาอยู่ชั้นอนุบาลปีที่ 1โรงเรียนบ้านวังทอง อำเภอเมือง จังหวัดเพชรบูรณ์ สำนักงานเขตพื้นที่การศึกษาประถมศึกษาเพชรบูรณ์ เขต 1 ซึ่งได้มาโดยการเลือกแบบเจาะจงใช้เวลาในการทดลอง 8 สัปดาห์ สัปดาห์ละ 5 วัน วันจันทร์ - วันศุกร์ ในกิจกรรมเกมการศึกษา ช่วงเวลา 15.00 –15.20 น.(20 นาที) ตั้งแต่วันที่ 20 พฤษภาคม 2556 ถึง วันที่ 12 กรกฎาคม 2556
เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัยครั้งนี้ คือ แผนการจัดกิจกรรมการเล่นเกมการศึกษาเกมโดมิโนจำนวน 40 แผน เกมการศึกษาเกมโดมิโนจำนวน 40 เกมและแบบทดสอบวัดทักษะคณิตศาสตร์ของเด็กปฐมวัยที่ผู้วิจัยสร้างขึ้น แบบแผนการวิจัยเป็นการวิจัยกึ่งทดลองแบบ One Group Pretest – Posttest Design
ผลการวิจัยพบว่า
ทักษะทางคณิตศาสตร์สำหรับเด็กปฐมวัยด้านการรู้ค่าจำนวนนับก่อนทดลองมีคะแนนเฉลี่ยคิดเป็นร้อยละ 25.25 หลังทดลองมีคะแนนเฉลี่ยคิดเป็นร้อยละ44.50 ด้านการเปรียบเทียบก่อนการทดลองมีคะแนนเฉลี่ยคิดเป็นร้อยละ 17.25 หลังทดลองมีคะแนนเฉลี่ยคิดเป็นร้อยละ 30.75 และค่าเฉลี่ยของทักษะทางคณิตศาสตร์สำหรับเด็กปฐมวัยโดยรวมก่อนทดลองมีคะแนนเฉลี่ยคิดเป็นร้อยละ 42.50 หลังทดลองมีคะแนนเฉลี่ยคิดเป็นร้อยละ 75.25 ทั้งรายด้านและโดยรวมมีค่าเฉลี่ยสูงขึ้นกว่าก่อนการทดลอง
