อุษามณี ไวทยานนท์ (ชื่อเล่น: ลูกขวัญ) มีชื่อจริงว่า อุษามณี พูลเกิด[1] เกิดเมื่อวันที่ 3 มีนาคม พ.ศ. 2531 บิดาของเธอมีอาชีพเป็นข้าราชการตำรวจชื่อ ด.ต.เกษม พูลเกิด (เสียชีวิตแล้ว) เป็นลูกครึ่งไทย-อังกฤษ กับมารดาชื่อ ปราณี ไวทยานนท์ มีเชื้อสายไทย-มอญ-แขกขาว เธอมีพี่สาวหนึ่งคนชื่อ เขมรัสนี ไวทยานนท์ (ชื่อเล่น: ลูกแก้ว) ซึ่งเกิดห่างกับเธอ 6 ปี[1] ชีวิตในวัยเด็กของเธออยู่กับพ่อแม่เป็นส่วนใหญ่ ไม่ค่อยได้ออกไปเล่นกับเพื่อน ๆ นอกบ้านมากนัก[1] ปัจจุบันขวัญเป็นนักแสดงแถวหน้าของสถานีโทรทัศน์สีกองทัพบกช่อง 7

ขวัญได้รับการทาบทามและแนะนำจากทีมงานนักแสดงตั้งแต่อายุ 3 ขวบ โดยเริ่มจากงานเดินแบบ และเล่นละคร โดยละครเรื่องแรกที่เล่น คือ "พ่อจ๋า แม่ขา ลูกรัก" จนได้รับงานแสดงทั้งของช่อง 3 และ ช่อง 7
โดยในปี 2547 ได้ทำสัญญาเป็นนักแสดงของสถานีโทรทัศน์สีกองทัพบกช่อง 7 โดยเรื่องแรกหลังการเซ็นสัญญา นั้นคือ "สาวน้อยในตะเกียงแก้ว ภาค 2 ตอนแม่มดน้อยตัวป่วน" ซึ่งขวัญเล่นเป็นนางร้าย เรื่องต่อมา "อกธรณี" ขวัญได้เล่นเป็นนางเอกเต็มตัวเรื่องแรก ละครดังมาก ได้เพิ่มตอนออกอากาศ และเป็นละครที่มีเรตติ้งสูงสุดของปีชนะละครก่อนข่าวและหลังข่าวทุกช่อง ทำให้ขวัญโด่งดังและเป็นที่รู้จัก ต่อมาขวัญได้ตอกย้ำความแรงกับละครหลังข่าว "ขิงก็ราข่าก็แรง" ที่ทำให้เกิดวลีสุดฮิตอย่าง 'แม่ไม่ปลื้ม' 'จบ' ส่งผลให้ละครเรื่องนี้เป็นละครที่มีเรตติ้งสูงสุดของปี 2549 โดยตอนจบสามารถทำเรตติ้งสูงสุดถึง 24 และเรตติ้งเฉลี่ยอยู่ที่ 17[2] ต่อมาเรื่อง "ปมรักรอยอดีต" ขวัญได้กลับมาพบกับ ปู ไปรยา สวนดอกไม้ ซึ่งเล่นเป็นนางร้าย หลังเคยเจอกันในเรื่อง สาวน้อยในตะเกียงแก้วภาค 2 และทำเรตติ้งสูงสุดที่เรตติ้ง 22 (ตอนอวสาน 18) ของปี 2551[3]
ในปี 2554 ขวัญ ได้กลับมาเล่นบทร้ายอีกครั้ง ในบท อินตรา (ในร่างมนชญา) ในละครเรื่อง "เพลิงพรหม" ที่สามารถทำเรตติ้งตอนจบสูงถึง 20[4] จนคว้า รางวัลร้ายได้ใจ จาก สยามดารา อวอร์ด 2011 นอกจากนี้ขวัญยังมีผลงานเด่น ๆ อีกมากมาย อาทิ รอยรักรอยบาป (เรตติ้งเฉลี่ย 15 ตอนจบ 21), หงส์ฟ้า (เรตติ้งตอนจบ 20 เฉลี่ย 13.5)[5] ฯลฯ
