อนุสรา ยังตรง เกิดเมื่อวันที่ 8 พฤศจิกายน พ.ศ. 2507 เป็นบุตรของนายอนันต์ และนางนิภา ช่างนาค มีพี่น้อง 2 คน สำเร็จการศึกษา นิเทศศาสตรบัณฑิต สาขาการประชาสัมพันธ์ มหาวิทยาลัยกรุงเทพ และศึกษาศาสตรมหาบัณฑิต สาขาบริหารการศึกษามหาวิทยาลัยรามคำแหง สมรสกับนายแพทย์วัลลภ ยังตรง อดีต ส.ส. สมุทรปราการหลายสมัย สมาชิกบ้านเลขที่ 111 มีบุตร 2 คน
ดำรงตำแหน่งสมาชิกวุฒิสภา จังหวัดสมุทรปราการ ชุดปี พ.ศ. 2549 ต่อมานายแพทย์วัลลภ (สามี) ถูกตัดสิทธิ์ทางการเมือง 5 ปี นางอนุสราจึงลงสมัครสมาชิกสภาผู้แทนราษฎรเป็นครั้งแรกในปี พ.ศ. 2550 สังกัดพรรคพลังประชาชน และได้รับการเลือกตั้ง
